Jesuit senior Emma Hinson will join 42 of the nation’s elite girl’s high school soccer players in the 2016 All-American game held in Raleigh, North Carolina. Emma was selected out of thousands of high school players to represent Team West as goalkeeper in the Dec. 3 game. As her high school team co-captain, she has led her fellow lady Crusaders to an impressive 13-1-1 record this fall season, and she played a commanding role in Jesuit’s 2015 season Metro League and State Championship wins.
“Emma has been both a fine goalkeeper on the field and a great representative of our program at all times,” says Steve Fennah, Jesuit’s head women’s soccer coach. “On the field she has the ability to make the game winning saves that set her apart from other good goalkeepers; in doing so, she inspires confidence in the rest of her team mates.”
Emma, who will play for St. Louis University next year, says that soccer has always been an important part of who she is: “Playing at Jesuit these last 4 years has been such a privilege, and I have enjoyed so much about it. I would not be where I am without the daily support and encouragement from my team, all of whom have quickly become my best friends. Coach Fennah has also been extremely helpful and encouraging, constantly pushing me to be the best I can be. I am so, so, so excited and honored to be playing in the All American game. I am so blessed with all of the opportunities soccer has given me.”
Jesuit’s women’s soccer team will play Lake Oswego in the state playoffs Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7:00pm on Jesuit’s Cronin Field.
